Minimum System Requirements

Please make sure that your system meets or exceeds the following system requirements before playing the game. If your system does not meet or exceed these requirements, the game will run poorly, or not at all.

  • 68040 or PowerPC Processor (33-megahertz or higher recommended)
  • 8MB of RAM (16MB recommended)
  • 5 MB Free Hard Drive Space (75 MB Free recommended)
  • System 7.1 or higher
  • Double-speed or faster CD-ROM drive
  • 256-color monitor

Installation

  1. Close all open windows on your screen
  2. Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
  3. Double-click on the Master Of Orion II icon to open the CD-ROM window.
  4. Double-click on the MOO II installer to install the game.
  5. It is recommended that you use the "Easy Install" option. This will install about 70-80 MB on your hard drive.
  6. If you choose the "Custom Install" option, you have a choice of 3 size options:
    • Minimum - about 2 MB on your hard drive, plus 5-10 for save games. Recommended only if you have very little hard drive space free. Slows down game performance.
    • Standard - the same as the "Easy Install" option.
    • Large - Installs entire game on your hard drive (over 400 MB). This option will improve game performance, but take up a lot of hard drive space.
  7. Click the "Install" button.
  8. When the installer is finished, restart the system to play Master of Orion II.

Uninstall

  1. Double click on your hard drive to open it.
  2. Drag the Master of Orion II folder to the Trash.
  3. Empty the Trash

Please note:

There are updates for the 601, 603, 604, G3, and 68k processors available on MacSoft's home page. Many minor problems can be solved by the correct update. If you have one of these processors, go to our Master of Orion II Downloads page and select the option that describes your processor to begin the download.

If you do not know what type of processor you have, click on the Apple menu, then on Apple System Profiler to find out.
